Design Inspiration: Colorful Tex-Mex

Need a pick-me-up?

Rather than reaching for a cup of caffeine, try feasting your eyes on splashes of color.

Ok, so I can’t guarantee that this will work for everyone, but at least for me a visual feast of colors and beauty sparks the synapsis of my creativity and I’m one to think that if it works for me it might be the ticket for others, too. 🙂 Just saying…

Design inspiration no. 2: Hacienda San Miguel, Bar y Cocina. Their branding utilizes three different font weights and style. Not an easy thing to pull off. However, it works. Positioned prominently on their window and accented by the gorgeous yet simple white and red curtain, the trademark of San Miguel comes across as elegant, welcoming not stuffy.

(By the way, how ingenious are the rows of cattle on the wall? One might not remember the name of the establishment, but by golly, one’s memory is most likely to be branded by those bulls.)

What I admire about Hacienda San Miguel is how they incorporate their logo into their decor: the outdoor metal water sculpture, the indoor sculpture and the imprint on the floor. Their incorporation of colors is fantastic, too.
